Korte introductie
Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilusis een grampositieve bacterie, en een fermentatieve facultatieve anaerobe, van de viridansgroep. Het test negatief op cytochroom, oxidase en catalase, en positief op alfa-hemolytische activiteit. Het is niet-beweeglijk en vormt geen endosporen. S. thermophilus is gefimbrieerd.
Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus ST6 is gescreend en afkomstig van een gezond kind, is vervaardigd in China en gedeponeerd onder CGMCC nr. 10755 bij het China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center.
